My Freezer Meal Favorites

We had a wonderful baby appointment with our midwife yesterday and the countdown is down to only 10 weeks until baby's "birth day"!

Energy level is decreasing; Belly size is increasing.
Newborn outfits are sorted out; Toddler bed is set up.
Miles are run slowly but surely.
And Leo's sourdough waffles taste extra amazing.

We're in the homestretch!

My goal for the next 5 weeks is to prepare healthy freezer meals and snacks for the family.

My mom was the meal-freezing all-star with my first pregnancy and I hope to follow in her footsteps this time! Freezer meals are so easy to just pop in the oven and they are a healthier choice than fast food.

When you're exhausted, running short on time and/or you just don't feel like cooking, freezer meals are the way to go!

This week's the Fit Dish [optional] topic is:

My Freezer Meal Favorites:

Here are a few of my favorite freezable meals. While I hope to get a few of these made before baby comes, I can't guarantee that I'm going to get through everything on this list. Our freezer space just won't allow it!

Breakfast

Sourdough Waffles (Leo's specialty)
Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuits
Ham and Egg Casserole

Non-Breakfast

Tater Tot Hotdish
Chicken Broccoli Alfredo
Oven-Baked Chicken Strips
Chili
Lasagna

Other Freezer Foods & Snacks

Homemade Whole Wheat Buns
Homemade Pizza Dough
BBQ'd Chicken, Shredded

What is your all-time favorite freezer meal?
What would you add to my list?

  1. Freezer meals are the way to go! Smart to plan ahead! We always freeze our favorite soups and chilis and keep them in the freezer for a quick meal :) Looking good!

    1. Sourdough waffles are one of my favorites! I have been craving them lately and I have to talk myself out of eating them for too many meals per week :) I'm hoping I can get quite a few of these meals made up soon!

  3. Ok, applause. When I was pregnant, I admit to THINKING about creating freezer meals, but I didn't want to deal with it, I just wanted to worry about eating later. And, I didn't have any go-to recipes at the time. But really, I need to start arming my freezer. I love how many recipes you have. Great job, and smart thinking. PS, you look amazing on that treadmill. GO Amy Go!!!

    1. I think anticipating the total exhaustion of having a newborn again is motivating me to get the freezer meals made now! I was so hungry after having our first baby and with breastfeeding that I would eat anything quick and easy... when the postpartum hunger returns, I hope to eat less chicken nuggets this time around :) Thank you for the encouragement, Jessica!
