Titus 2 Priorities

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure., to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:3-5
I was reading in Titus this morning and the verses really spoke to me about my purpose and priorities as a wife and mother. God is so awesome because His truth isn't sugar-coated, like our society would like it to be. Living a godly lifestyle is counter-cultural and it will rub people the wrong way, but who would you rather offend, man or God?

God's purpose for a woman is so completely different than the world's. As a new stay-at-home mom, I'm learning how much I actually valued having my career. This life change has taught me so much about the world's influence on me and I'm very thankful God has blessed me with the ability to leave my career to serve my family and raise our son. Staying at home requires sacrifices, but I wouldn't want it any other way now. The world may say that I'm "wasting my education" by staying at home with my son, but there is nothing further from God's Truth than that! Training little warriors for Christ is no waste of intelligence.

Each day, God is teaching me that life isn't about me, my career, or always having what I want! There is nothing more fulfilling than living in line with God's purpose for me as a Christian woman, wife, and mother. I struggle each time God asks me to take a step of faith and leave my comfort zone, but growth only occurs when I'm out of my comfort zone and God has never left me in the past. And He never will!

Priorities for Christian Women

1. Love your husband and children.

2. Be self-controlled and pure.

3. Be busy at home.

4. Be kind.

5. Be subject to your husband.

What has God been teaching you this week?
