Disclaimer: I received Knockaround Slingshot Snow Goggles in exchange for my review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador) and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews! My 2022 running adventures have finally come to a close! It's been an amazing running year and also a pretty crazy exciting year as far as personal life goes as well. We moved to our dream farm in July, which was a lot of work and also so cool. The snow this winter has been intense but we love it out here. After running CIM in early December, I planned to take a solid two weeks off of running.  That turned into one week off going as planned and then 10 days of doing bare minimum childcare + laying on the couch with influenza. And THEN a sinus infection followed that! Thankfully the kids are super hardy and were only sick for a couple days; unlike me.  Finally, I made it back to running and realized I only needed to run 24 miles to "ru...

A Closer Look at the Rocketbook Everlast

Image
I'm an avid note taker and journaler. Think piles of old journals, sticky notes, sketchbooks, notes in the margins, lists here, lists there. Recently I was introduced to a new way of note taking in the form of a reusable notebook and, honestly, I was skeptical. Could there be anything better than a traditional ole notebook? Enter the Rocketbook Everlast . How to Use This Smart Notebook The Everlast is a reusable "smart notebook" which enables you to take notes using a specific pen, the Pilot FriXion pens or markers. Prior to using my notebook, I downloaded the Rocketbook app on my iPhone. It was quick, painless and has very positive ratings in the App Store as well. After downloading, I went straight to business with the Pilot FriXion Clicker  (3-pack for $7 on Rocketbook.com) that Rocketbook sent me. As I mentioned earlier, Pilot FriXion pens and markers are the only writing utensils to be used on the Everlast and replacements and/or different styles ...

Disclaimer: I received the BOCO Gear Visor & Hat to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador) and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews! Runners spend a lot of time out in the elements. That's a given! To spare my skin from sun damage and the weather elements (and sometimes to cover up my messy hair), I wear hats - a lot. Which is great because I tend to be forgetful when it comes to sunscreen, especially when the weather cools off. As a BibRave Pro, I received the custom designed BOCO 360° Visor® and Endurance Hat from BOCO Gear. These hats are LIGHT, the colors are BRIGHT and the designs POP! BOCO Gear , the new leader in performance gear for endurance athletes, offers fully customizable technical headwear and accessories for brands, teams or events. Their gear is designed for and tested by top athletes. I have browsed through many of their designs on the BOCO Gear website and Fac...

Cozy Gear for Cool Running | BUFF® ThermoNet Review

Image
Disclaimer: I received this BUFF® ThermoNet Gear to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador) and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews! Just in time for the gorgeous Fall weather and racing season (well, everyone else is racing except me!) I was introduced to some amazing cool weather running gear. The mornings have been in the 40 to 50°F range, which is honestly still pretty toasty, but the freezing temps will be here soon enough. Regardless of the temp, I believe running outdoors in *most weather is do-able, with the right gear.  *Within reason. Not reasonable: hurricanes, blizzards, tornadoes, skin-melting-off heat, extreme limb-freezing cold, etc. As a BibRave Pro, I received a BUFF® ThermoNet Hat and ThermoNet Multifunctional Headwear in the beautiful pink/purple Crash Berry pattern. The ThermoNet product line uses PrimaLoft® technology to hold in the heat, but not the moisture. How Does...

Disclaimer: I received this Fun Run Box to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador) and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews! Fall is one of my favorite times of the year because the weather is absolutely perfect for running (cool but not freezing), everything is pumpkin spice-flavored and a year's worth of running/training is coming to its peak. Last year was full of marathons but this Fall has been quite different with Baby #3 due in ±7 weeks. No marathons for me but I have had a new challenge to keep me up and running! As a BibRave Pro, I received the Oktoberfest 5 Mile Dachs Theme Box , my first-ever online running challenge! Each participant is assigned to a "team", mine being  #FRBTeamDoxie. My challenge box arrived at the end of August and included the following goodies: Headsweats "5 Mile Dachs" Technical Soft Trucker Hat Themed FRB Technical Fabric Short Sleeve Ru...

Reflective Gear for Four-Legged Runners | Stunt Puppy Collar Review

Disclaimer: I received Stunt Puppy Go Dog Glo Collar to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador) and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews! Finding a faithful, consistent and uplifting running partner is no easy task. I know I'm thankful to have mine. He doesn't say much, is raring to go first thing in the morning, takes about 1 minute to get ready and happens to live in my backyard.  It doesn't get much better than that! Long story short, Saul lost his sight in one eye (see below) after an eye injury and staff infection last summer. Though he is an older dog – 10 years, to be exact – Saul has adapted very well to using only one eye. He doesn't run into things (often) but I still take extra caution to keeping him safe especially when he joins me on the road. Because we run together often in the dark pre-sunrise hours, I have been on the hunt for dog-friendly reflective gear for qu...
